Address
City, State, Zip Code

Dear (Mr. or Ms.) (Last Name) of Interviewer:

Opening Paragraph

Reference the position title; Address how you found out about the position. If you address this in your cover letter, you will probably have answered a question they had in mind and will add some context to your application. This is a bonus to the recruiter.

The strength of a company is directly dependent on its employees. With my demonstrated track record of consistently combining financial leadership with sound business practices, I can position companies for long-term growth and profitability and I am confident that I would be an excellent fit for the position of Safety Officer.

Body of the Letter

Print out the job description and highlight the duties they mention that you have done in the past. Then, circle which of their qualifications you meet – hopefully, it will be most if not all. In this paragraph (or two) write about each point, methodically tying your experience and skills together with what they need.

The Closing

Thank them for considering your application, tell them that you have attached a copy of your resume, and when you would be available for an interview. Provide your contact details (Phone / Fax / Email)

If (organization name) is looking for a visionary, insightful, forward-thinking change manager, I would be interested in speaking with you to discuss the value that my strengths and experience can bring your compyny. I can be reached in confidence at the above telephone number or email address. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,

Cover Letter Tips

Formulate your ideas and propositions clearly. You don’t want the recruiter to read your Safety Officer cover letter twice in order to understand what you are trying to say. You want your letter to be clear so that the person reading it will understand your message the first time. If your cover letter is unclear, it will shed a negative impression on your application upfront.

This Safety Officer Cover Letter is a very good example of how to tailor your qualifications in function of the position you are applying to.
